We Don't Agree All the Time

Nate and I, we don't agree on what time to set our clocks too.  He likes them fast.  I'd rather have them right on the money.  So right now the clock in the van is 15 minutes fast.  Yes, that fast.  And we both kind of forget about it.  Which is why when we thought we were late on the way to a supper invite the other night we texted ahead to let them know.... we actually arrived right on time.  Nate just told them that we drove really fast when they told us, "You aren't late" yeah... I keep getting to the bus stop way early.  The clock in the house is 5 minutes fast.  It's a real mental exercise to figure out what time it really is. So I bought myself a watch the other morning.  A morning when i could not sleep.  So I high tailed it to Wal Mart before I fell back to sleep and it was bliss shopping at wal mart all by myself.  As much bliss as shopping at walmart can be. The watch is "water resistant"  I believe I can blame this on why I dreamed since then that I dropped my Dad's new camera in the ocean.  It was too heavy.  I also dreamed that night that our laminate flooring was popping up and that was one morning that I was so glad to wake up!

New Nephew Alex

I forgot to tell you about the newest family member. We met him last night for the very first time. Alex Samuel Zehr. Born July 25 to Nate's oldest sister Carla.

Alex kept Carla from making it to Jana's wedding.

Jana's wedding kept  a lot of us from seeing Alex as a new newborn.

Stuart is really getting around all of a sudden.

Still Catching Up

We just can't catch up right now.  Nate said that once we move we will just enjoy life and quit fixing stuff up for a time.  I hope that is soon!  We moved but the little details are so consuming.  You know, hooking up stuff like dishwasher, water softener, washer, dryer, water purification system that we are addicted too, phone lines, internet, etc.  Then the unexpected things happen. Like when unhooking the washer at the old house the faucet came along w/ the hose or something bad. More work for over there.  So we are here now but the furniture is kind of still where it was set that night and the garage?  Oh the garage, it is just full of stuff that I'd rather not have to deal with.
Nate was perplexed the other night with the smell in the garage.  He thought the lawn mower smelled like grass and was ready to build a shed for it.  Later I smelled it too and realized it was the old garlic that I tossed in the garbage can in the garage.
We got Ellie a kitten for her birthday.  It is a little bit on the wild side and not as much of a kitten as maybe it should have been.  Her face when she peeked in the gift bag holding the kitten was so sweet.  We brought it home and it promptly moved into a groundhog hole in a window well.  And it cried a lot. And there was no catching it.  A few days later It was peeking in the window at Nate and I.  I managed to get it and we held it for a while trying to tame it.  We woke the girls up to let them hold it and I asked Ellie what we should name it.  I had to hush Mia at the very same time as she would just love that privilege. Ellie looked at me and said, "Kathy" my eyes got big.  I've got a good friend named Kathy and oh dear... is it ok to name a cat after a friend?  Someone named their goat Lydia one time and I was not too keen on this so it just seemed kind of bad.  Kathy the cat.  I've been thinking since that maybe we could call her Kat for short.  "What's your kitty's name?"
"Kat" "Doesn't your kitty have a name?" "Yes, it's name is Kat"  could be confusing.

New Neighbor gift from my cousin's wife Vicky.  Check it out... matches perfectly!
Love it.
She just didn't wake up all that happy on her birthday.
She was feeling much better as the day went on.  I was running to the store to pick up her cake and wanted to ask her what she wanted for supper but she was still sleeping.  Nate was like, "noodles, just make her anything with noodles" yeah... she loves pasta.  Got to Dutch Way for the cake but the cake was not there.  They accidentally sent it to Schafferstown Dutch Way.  So it was 4:30 the evening of her birthday and they were asking me if I wanted to go get her cake at Schafferstown or have it brought to Myerstown, it would take half an hour.  I do tend to have born loser moments and this was one of them.  The baker lady kindly gave me a third option and said, "You know what, I can just make you another one while you shop" that lady was fast.  She brought it to me a mere 5 minutes later.  And Ellie got her Sesame street cake that she was expecting.  Nice! It was too nice, I'm afraid Mia will be begging for a store bought one next year.
So thankful for the help.
Happy to be Behind The Fence again.

The other day I told Mia that her cousin A.J. was at the beach. Her eyes widened and she asked, "A.J. went to Grenada?" No Mia there are beaches here.  "There are? I want to go"  was so funny.
The reason we went.  Happily married.

Back to the Grind

Mia just loves swimming lessons and I am feeling so guilty for not taking her this morning.  She does not know that they are.  I came home from Grenada with the flu or something and I just trying to survive the mountain of laundry.  Yet I am tempted to drop everything and take her just because she loves it so.
This picture from Jana's wedding just makes my day.

WalMart Tire and Lube

Today I thought I would be nice and get the van serviced while I shopped at Wal Mart.  So I pulled up beside the sign that said, "Wait here for attendant" and I waited. Not quite sure which side of the cones to be parked at.  I waited pretty long.  Finally a pudgy man about my age with crooked teeth and an air about him came out and asked if he could help. I told him I'd like the oil changed and he began with "You can start by pulling up over here" he said, "You're in the way over there". So I pull over where he tells me too and he's like, "You can get out of the van"  while rolling his eyes.  So I put the window up and start to hop out of the van and he says all smart Alick-y, "You didn't need to put the window up" So I put the window back down and he says, "You could have left it up"  So I turn off the van and again before I can get out he stops me with his annoying, "You didn't have to turn the vehicle off"  rolling his eyes.  Oh my word! What is wrong with this guy.  So I went to turn it back on and he's like, "If the keys are in it just let if off"  It took me more than one round of shopping to get over this.

I've Got A Problem

Call it anxiety, stress, too much on my plate maybe?  But I'm freezing up.  Just sitting here freaking out.  Doing nothing.  Like I'm just waiting a few more hours so that I can run around like my head is cut off and get tons done in a hurry.  Did I just hear someone say "Procrastinator" Yes I did, it was that voice in my head. I am one.  I'm being one.  Someone tell me to move.
