More eclipse pictures.
The neighbor man giving Piper some love.
The children got off school at 12 so we went to Zoo America. We can get in free thanks to our membership to the NC Aquarium.
Nate loves stuff like this, if it was up to me might never get to a zoo. He is the favorite parent and I can't blame the kids.
Nate handed the camera back to me and said, "I think I got the bobcat." Yes you did, yes you did.
Never mind Olive and I.
How many years will the melt downs last, I wonder. I remember Stuart acting like this at the age of 4 so...
East End Days
The fish we catch
Two of my aunts and 3 of my cousins spent the day together last week.
We took Sharon's horse and cart to the local succulent farm. Then to the Chinese Buffet.
Aunt Janie. You can take your own containers and fill them.
Oh yes, we stopped by their (the succulent ladies) sisters the horse trainers.
Turns out we are all related on the Hoover side.
I purchased some prints from Jenny's Print Shop.
Olive is very upset that Stuart got a moon in his bedroom and she can't have a sun.
Chorus tour on Sunday. It was just day tour. We spent the afternoon walking the Ben Franklin Bridge in Philadelphia. It was 91 degrees. I was jogging quite merrily when I tripped. Seriously.
They just added this song last week.
(I had been hinting at adding it for months. My method: playing the song 100x on youtube)
The other Saturday morning I woke up and relayed to Nathan my dream (this is where it might get a little fru fru for you) I dreamed he added the song even though we had all ready started giving programs. In my dream we emailed everyone a copy of the music and a link to the song on you tube... he replied, "I thought maybe we should do that" so we did.
Lamar (the main chorus adviser) had a pig barn that burned down a few weeks ago and on Sunday he was telling us how they have been seeing a few pigs that escaped the fire, they peek out of the cornfield occasionally. He said that they might have been easy to handle in the barn but now that they are out, there is no catching them. I started singing this song, "Freedom, oh freedom..." and now I'm afraid I might think of those pigs every time they sing this song. I picture them clicking their heels together as they prance away. I might have been spending too much time in a school van with some children that have overactive imaginations. It's true, the stuff they come up with makes my day at first but then 3 or 4 days later when they are still discussing the same thing... it starts to wear on me.
So about these 90 degree days. My school van/ bus was getting so warm by 3 in the afternoon and the a/c is a little on the, not as strong as it once was, side. So finally, after two days of roasting... I had the brilliant idea to park it in Nate's spot in the shop. The first day, I backed right in and thought, that wasn't so bad. The second day was more back, front, back front, etc. Worth it though, van was much cooler.
These two and me all day every day.
Plum Creek
Ashley from Under the Sycamore is covering her sofa in this fabric.
I had no idea that I wanted a floral sofa (I guess I could just bring the one that I have up from the basement) but I am swooning over this fabric.
I tell ya, slouch socks are next.
