Things That Hurt

This floor... It made my knees hurt.
My poor mother suffered a 4wheeler accident.  Dad said when he took her to the hospital people would look at her face and then at him, then back at her face... back at him.
We are so glad it was not worse.

Ivy Jane

She is just perfect.  Beautiful.  Congrats to my brother Tristan and his sweet wife Dorcas on their beautiful (did I mention that yet?) baby Ivy Jane.

I Caved So Soon

This is not my new kitchen.

But this is.
I was shaking my head the whole time I painted the back splash such a bold  green.   Here I go again.  With my wild colors.  When I was trying so hard to stick to light and airy only.
I do think it does it's job though.  Is it just me or do you not notice the 70s counter top so much now?

Groan... this just torments me.  Look at that blue with the white.  So calm.  So what I was planning. Back when I was planning on a new counter top.
Back splash color due to change periodically.

*All surrounding walls will be blue.

Workin On Willow St

The kitchen is almost back together.  I spend more time there than Nate does so when he is present there are a hundred things for him to do.  I am better at taking things apart than putting them back together.
Lots of primer.  Primer on the walls, primer on my hands. Tough to get rid of.

Any comments on master bedrooms that are attached to the main bathroom?  And yet the smallest bedroom in the house? We really were back and forth about whether or not to use it as our bedroom.  Bugs me that our furniture will not all fit in there. My question is... is it annoying to have guests leave and find your door to the bathroom locked?  Because I am always sure to lock that door when I'm at someone else house.  Kind of hate a bathroom with two doors like that. Anyhow... that room is about ready to go and since I made it gray yesterday I guess it's ours.  We figure someday we'll knock out some more walls and make it a big master bedroom with the sewing room included.  Someday when the kids sleep in the basement.

Things That Happen To Me

I went to the bank to deposit some checks the other day.  Banker Lady (teller) sighed deeply and told me she can't cash the one it was dated for a day or two later, "You'll have to bring this one back on Monday"  I was so surprised.  We'd had it for a while.  Seriously I make my trips to the bank count and was not into coming back.  Monday has come and gone and I didn't go back yet.  So I got home and was telling Nate, "You know that check from the renter that we waited forever to get? It is dated for the seventh. So we were all aghast about this and then Nate said, "Are you sure it wasn't May 7th?" Sure enough.  Banker Lady so missed that! Well, so did I.
I baked two lemon cream pies last week.  Um... I put whole eggs in instead of just the yolks.  This was very sad.
Of course it had to be the day after the pies that I made an entire gallon of yogurt and something went wrong there. Wrong, wrong, wrong. It looks curdled.  So that was very sad.  I'll tell you what I think I did wrong.  It had not cooled to quite 110 degrees. I fudged it by like 5 degrees and then.... then I put the too warm yogurt stuff into an oven that was all ready warm from me baking granola.  So I think it got too much heat. I think. Who knows.  The granola sure is missing the yogurt though.

Knobs Hinges and Pulls.

My kitchen hardware came yesterday.  I could not be happier.  I only wish that we had time this week to put it all back together.  Summer Bible School would be why. Ebay $103 total and free shipping.  www.stores.ebay.com/The-Knob-Shop  Hinges is a funny looking word.

I read in a design magazine yesterday "If your house looks like your grandmothers' you have failed"  Ok... we're off to a bad start then.

Weekends Over Blues

Had a fun weekend with Nate's sister Carla. Now it's back to the real deal. Scary how it's all ready Tuesday and only feeling like Monday.
