Pippi Goes to School

Ellie's art. We were out of chalk for a while. Would you believe I could not find chalk at target?
I might have lied when they asked if I found everything I was looking for.
I pretty much do not like when they ask me that.

Let's hope Mia was not telling a tall tale when she came home from school Friday saying that they are supposed to dress up like a character on Monday. She and Mr. Nilsson are on their way to school right now.

Pipe cleaners in braids. It would have been nice to have some brown pipe cleaners on hand.

We practiced the braids on Saturday morning. Nate had to run a few errands in the snow storm. He took her along... at the first store the cashier thought it was a hoot and asked her all about it. Next store, a more conservative cashier would only stare.
Nate was still laughing when he got home.

  1. How fun! I wish I would of known how to do these when my girl was young! She's 15 now.:) I used to read the pippi books.

  2. Love, love, love the hat! Bought my Ellie one like it! The Pippi outfit is really cute, what a great way to break up the winter drag. Laughs over the book you wrote...what a fun gift! Met Gene in the airport last wed. He was one of the seasoned travelers in business class heading to an island for a winter break. We were the "don't get out much family" checking in economy with an army of mismatched suitcases, hoping to actually get out our ppl to the island. Who could trade family life?!

  5. ooooh! Pippi! I dressed up like Pippi in college one time and just stuck an unbent metal hanger through my braids after I braided them. So very funny. I forgot the freckles, though. Your girl looks so sweet and I love that she got the Menno stare. heee hee.
