My Ramona

Here is my Ramona Quimby

Last night she had a sink full of water, toothpaste, electric toothbrush (will it ever run again?), oh and lots of qtips.

While hanging up my wash in the backyard I came upon this very muddy bear.  Oh how she loves to get wet and dirty.

Nate took our Ramona with him while running errands last night.  He said she chattered at him the entire time.  Non stop.

"God never denies us our hearts desire except to give us something better."

Read that this week and tried to just absorb it.  I know it to be true so why do I lose sleep at night?  Ah.
We have been scraping and priming and painting full speed ahead here.  This old house!  The porch roof is about to be painted.
In the home making department I made my own yogurt for the first time and we love it. Thanks to Thelma for her recipe and inspiration.  You've got to read her blog.
If you're in the mood for something tart.  Make this lemon pie this weekend.  It is seriously good.  I put mine in a graham crust.  My Dad would have been proud.  (he hates pie crust and watermelon... the only two things I can think of right now on his do not like list)

Lemon Cream Pie (MADE blog)

 Combine:
1 cup sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
Add:
1/4 cup melted butter
1 Tbsp. lemon rind
1 cup milk
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (aprox 2 lemons)
3 egg yolks slightly beaten
Cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly. Cool.
Stir in 1 cup sour cream and spoon into a baked, cooled pie crust. Cover the top with whipped cream or cool whip. Chill till ready to serve.

  5. Jo, how lucky of you to have a Ramona. Mom and I used to read those books and laugh till we cried or peed our pants! Enjoy the moment! It's good your writing it down so she can know someday what she was like! ~Marlisa
